Son Yang Maojian ( other names: Sin Yang Maojian, Xin Yang Maojian ) is one of the Ten Most Famous Chinese Tea since Tang Dynasty. Son Yang, a small city lies on the edge of Dabie mountain chain in North China, crisscrossed by streams and brooks, have plenty of the clouds and mist needed for good tea.
The tea leaves of Son Yang Maojian are in fine, taut strips. They yield a beverage with a chestnut flavor and a long-lasting aftertaste. This tea has been produced with only very simple equipment. What makes it different are the skillful hand movements of rolling, adjusted to the heat and softness or dryness of the tender leaves.
Hot brewing method: 1 tea spoon (about 5gm tea leaves) infused with 250ml hot water. Steeping for 2.5min for 1st infusion; 3min for 2nd infusion. Good for 2~3 times. You might leave a little bit tea with the leaves (just cover the tea leaves) before the next infusion.

Very "fresh" tasting tea. Quite floral but with good fresh corn taste and smell. Light wood. Tannins are subtle.
