Hot Brewing Method: Use 1 heaping teaspoon of chrysanthemum per one cup of water and place this into your teapot. Pour boiling water into pot and let it steep for 3-5 minutes. Strain as you pour into your cup.

Cold Brewing Method: Generally not consumed as an iced tea.

Chrysanthemum tea has many purported medicinal uses, including an aid in recovery from influenza and as a « cooling » herb. According to traditional Chinese medicine the tisane can aid in the prevention of sore throat and promote the reduction of fever. In western herbal medicine, Chrysanthemum tea is drunk and used as a compress to treat circulatory disorders such as varicose veins and atherosclerosis.

Chinese herbalists have claimed: Chrysanthemum can be used by the respiratory system to clear fever and headaches associated with colds and flu. – used as a tonic for the eyes to sooth redness – ease tension and headaches.
